Next Level Nola is currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 cohort of fellows!
Next Level NOLA partners with Southern New Hampshire University's College For America to provide concurrent college enrollment. The Associate of Arts degree is the first step toward earning a bachelor's degree.
Fellows who choose the City College pathway can earn up to an Associate's degree in college credit during their fellowship.
Regardless of what industry or role you are pursuing, the AA in General Studies develops personal, foundational and business skills by strengthening critical thinking, problem solving, communication and more. The Business Operations Certificate is awarded when you complete the first 24 credit hours with the AA General Studies Business Concentration.
Here's what an Associate's Degree can get you:
Having an associate's degree opens up a wider range of job opportunities compared to having no degree at all. Many entry-level positions require a minimum level of education, and an associate's degree fulfills that requirement.
On average, individuals with an associate's degree tend to earn higher salaries compared to those without a degree. It provides a foundation of knowledge and skills that can lead to better-paying jobs and opportunities for career advancement.
Pursuing an associate's degree is often a more time and cost-efficient option compared to pursuing a bachelor's degree. It typically takes around two years to complete, allowing you to enter the workforce sooner and start earning a steady income while continuing your education if desired.
If you decide to pursue a higher degree in the future, an associate's degree can serve as a solid foundation. Many colleges and universities accept transfer credits from associate's degree programs, allowing you to continue your education and potentially earn a higher-level degree with reduced time and cost.
College level classes can be challenging, but with dedication, perseverance, and some effective study skills, you can overcome any obstacle and thrive. Here are 4 ways to prepare:
Improve time management, note-taking, and organization techniques to effectively manage the workload and stay on top of assignments.
Review fundamental concepts in subjects like math, writing, and science to ensure a solid foundation for more advanced college courses.
Connect with academic advisors, teachers, and success coaches to understand course expectations and requirements, and seek their advice on recommended resources or study strategies.
Embrace challenges, view setbacks as learning opportunities, and believe in your ability to adapt and improve. Develop a positive mindset that promotes resilience and a love for lifelong learning.
